Looking for a new and refreshing preschool
video? Looking for
entertainment that is educational as well as fun? And you want to support someone from Colorado Springs?
Then look no further than Miss Lori.
Miss Lori has created not only a video, but also an opportunity
for kids and parents to play together.
She uses fun and easy finger plays that she and her son, Clark
Richard, have created. Every
time she would go somewhere and have an opportunity to work with kids,
it always rang true how much they loved her finger plays.
This gave way to her idea of a video and the birth of Sqedunk
Children Productions. You
can check them out on the web at www.sqedunk.com.
Why finger plays? Well
according to Miss Lori, Finger Plays are valuable activities that help
children acquire skills that are essential to their development and
learning. They help improve
and advance memory and language skills, while also aiding in the
development of eye-hand coordination and enhancing their gross and fine
motor skills. Not to
mention, everyone of any age can do them.
It is an activity that can involve parent and child and let then
share a fun magical moment of learning.
To accompany the video which you can buy are Toys 4 Fun on Jefferson
Street in Monument, Miss Lori and her family are currently touring
around the country focusing on schools, libraries, and bookstores, and
Churches. It is a family
affair. Her husband, who is
wonderfully supportive, is her partner in Sqedunk. Her ten year old son
Clark Richard actually wrote and sang the opening and closing songs on
the video, as well as helped out on the finger play: Little Bear.
These are songs that we all are familiar with,
but her loving and fun attitude really brings the finger plays to life.
And you walk away feeling a little happier and humming a fun
tune.
